Memorial sampler

Posted on February 15, 2011 at 7:02 AM

Here is a photo of a celtic sampler I just finished.

It was a present from my parents in-law, and though it was relatively a straight forward project on aida, it took me a long time to finish as I had several other projects going on at the same time.

I made the dedication to my husband's brother who passed away several years ago after heart surgery.

The company who makes these celtic cross stitch projects is called Celtic X stitch

That is gorgeous and what a wonderful way to keep someone close to you who has passed away.

Beautiful, it's a work of art, you did a wonderful job of stitching. Love the verse and I love the colors.

Celtic X stitch has some other nice samplers with typical Irish sayings.
I did not do all the back stitch they suggested, as I think too much can make the embroidery clutered, often you can get the same result with just highlighting certain parts with back stitch, and letting the colors do the work of seperating the pattern from the background.
