I admired this Oleana cardigan for the longest time, and finally bought the yarn and started knitting... but it is taking so, so long. I am sure though that it will be beautiful when done.
The pattern is taken from the book by Solveig Hisdal - Poetry in stitches.
Here is how the finished pattern will look like.....if I ever finish it. Ha !

Aren't I'm lucky ?
The mother of a friend knitted all my kids a matching typical Norwegian sweater, and hats.
The Norwegians knit in the round, and then cut the work to add the arm holes. In a country where handknits are one of the best winter wears it save a lot of time to work like that. All the decreasing, and augmenting is an art, but does take a lot longer.

I finally took the plunge and tried cable knitting. Here is the result a warm winter hat, with a cable rim.
The pattern is from ' Rowan knitting and crochet magazine 48 '. The pattern looked intricate, but it was rather easy and was finished in a week. I will admit I did have to re-do it a little as I had made it too short at first, I just took off the decrease on the top and added a few rows and it was good.

I had wanted to knit some woolen trousers for my girls, but could not find a simple, easy pattern. My dear friedn orysia came to my rescue and gave me a general plan for some quick knit pants.
I am comfortable with a crochet hook, but need to improve my knitting......
I knitted while we watched movies, and somehow the trousers who were to go for my 4 years old, ended up too big and went to my delighted 5 years old.
I need to learn to calculate better the finished sizes...But it was a good start.
