Here is a photo of a celtic sampler I just finished.
It was a present from my parents in-law, and though it was relatively a straight forward project on aida, it took me a long time to finish as I had several other projects going on at the same time.
I made the dedication to my husband's brother who passed away several years ago after heart surgery.
The company who makes these celtic cross stitch projects is called Celtic X stitch

Here is a photo of a little felt mouse I sewed when I was 10 years old. One day our teacher brought a lot of beautiful felt and told us we could make a little animal.
I don't have much from whenI was a child, but somehow this little mouse survived.

Here is a photo of Emilie and her first cross stitching.
I got some really large aida, perle cotton and a loop to get her started with embroidery.
She likes making the little crosses, but needs a lot of help from mommy still. She is almost 5 years old, a good age to start learning to use a needle.

I purchased some time back this lovely little doily. It's made in fine lacis ( or filet embroidery ).
You can see from the photos how neatly it was made. It's very fine, delicate work.

I highly recommend ' Samplers and antique needlework '. The American quarterly embroidery magazine. If you like reproductions of ancient samplers, and the history behind a lot of our needlework tools and techniques, then you will love these magazines.
My favorite place to buy the latest number, and the best place to find back issues is : http://www.wyndhamneedleworks.com/
