A little progress....

Posted on November 20, 2011 at 2:20 AM Comments comments (0)

Still working on my hobby/work /storage room... My sister painted the walls white, and my husband and I put some linoleum on the concrete floor.

The winter is starting though, so we might only get it finished next spring...

I did put up a shelf, and organised my collection of cross stich, knitting magazines, and resource materials. But, because it is a basement room I keep my antiques, and hand painted Berlin woolwork charts upstairs. ( It is important to keep humidity levels as low as possible with anything over 100 years old )

My future work room / office

Posted on August 5, 2011 at 6:25 PM Comments comments (0)

So, we moved houses and this is the ' extra' room that will be the Hobby/work/office room.

Needs a bit of work though, actually everything needs to be done. Painting, floor, lighting, new window, etc... Looking forward to fixing it up, but for right now it is used for storing the boxes, and bags I still have not un-packed.

Holidays are over

The past month of July I have had all my children home on holidays, so I did not do any more work on charts.

I did put an extra effort on adding to my ETSY shop, you are very welcome to take a look :

   www.rolanddesigns.etsy.com

Now that the holidays are ending I will be adding many new charts. I have some very beautiful , large hand painted charts that are waiting for me to take the time to chart them.

I will also be adding some of my best selling ETSY items on the site, you can purchase them directly from Roland -designs.

Roland-designs will be celebrating it's first anniversary in September, so check back there will be many special offers, and free gifts.

My home office

I thought you might like to see my little tiny office.

Actually it's only a desk, and a lot of boxes, and books hidden in my cupboards.

Here you can see I'm working on ' Red and pink roses '.

There is usually a cup of coffee, and a kitten on the table, and often a child pulling my sleeves.....

And yes the walls are pink.....

17 Mai

Norway celebrates it's national day on the 17 th of Mai.

Since they had a peaceful break away from Sweden, they do not have a military themed national day. Instead they have a children parade.

All the children parade in the streets accompanied by music bands, and everyone is dressed in their national costumes -- Bunads.

Each region has their own interpretation of the Bunad, and you get to see some very beautiful needlework.

One kind lady aggreed to let me post a photo of her beautiful Bunad. It is adorned in a sort of crewel embroidery . Very pretty.

More Berlin woolwrok charts coming soon.

Posted on April 10, 2009 at 1:03 AM Comments comments (2)

I know the Berlin woolwork charts are quite popular, and I wanted to let everyone know that there are more coming soon.

They are not always easy to re-chart as the coours are sometime a bit of a puzzle, especially if the chart is partially damaged ( As often is the case ).

Some charts lite the ' Floral bellpull ', took several weeks to chart. The original graph was very small, and it was hard to differienciate the colours.
